Facebook Rolls out it’s own “Retweet” Option: Via

YesterdayYesterday reviewsYesterday reviews evening, FacebookFacebookFacebook has rolled out it’s own version of Twitter’s famous “retweet” button. When you see a shared item that you like in the News Feed and click “share” – rather than the share seeming to come from you, the share now says “Via <name of original sharer>.” This is great because credit is now always going to be given to the original sharer, and you don’t have to @tag the people who you do want to give credit to. Instead, credit will be given automatically.

Here’s a screenshot of the post window:

At first I thought “well that’s great – but it’s still a post from you with tiny mention of the other guy.” Then I posted it and realized that the original poster is prominently displayed the same way they are displayed when someone writes on your wall! Here’s a screenshot:

So there we have it – I think that if the Twitterfication of Facebook wasn’t clear enough – it certainly is crystal now!

What do you think of the new feature?
