My good friend @judahe asked @mashableMashable @susqhb and myself. He asked: “Why doesn’t facebook notify you when someone ‘@mentions your fan page?”

That’s an awesome question! Why don’t admins of a Fan Page get notified by FacebookFacebook when someone @mentions them? The answer to this is simple. Fan Pages, even if they’re admined by the finest of admins, are still entities unto themselves. Meaning, they are like stand-alone profiles. So if there were a way to log in as a fan page to begin with, that page would get notifications. Unfortunately, we only get notifications about our own profiles.

There IS, however, a way to know if someone mentioned your Fan Page. Every time someone @mentions your page – it gets posted on your Fan Page’s wall! Here’s a screenshot of the magic in progress:
