Recently, YouTubeYouTube have made it much easier for users to find friends through Facebook, Yahoo!, and GmailGmail (which has been possible for a while.) Now, they’re taking on Twitter with a new hashtag attempt. The hashtag is #SubSaturday, short for Subscription Saturday, and it will encourage people to recommend others for subscription the same way #FollowFriday recommends friends for following on Fridays.

Here’s an example of a #SubSaturday tweet (as written by YouTube):

What I think they should really do is make #SubSaturdays shareable directly from an account or from an individual video! That would really increase the chances of this really succeeding. Kind of like a TweetMemeTweetmeme for videos!
