Google Buzz: Google’s Social Sharing Tool

Forget OrkutOrkutOrkut. Okay, don’t forget it – but GoogleGoogleGoogle wants you to. Orkut was Google’s crack at a social network a while back, and while it’s popular in BrazilBrazil reviewsBrazil reviews, it never took off that much here.

Google Buzz is Google’s newest attempt at Social Networking. This one seems more promising because it’s integrated into the already widely-used GmailGmailGmail. So they’re tapping into their loyal customer base and adding the social network as a feature rather than an entity unto itself. This makes it a lot more easily digestible, and easily integrateable into the day to day activities we all do.

One interesting feature in Buzz is that it detects your interests, and recommends people you are not yet following! This is unheard of in Google – especially in the Gmail interface – considering it’s a closed email interface. Not any more!
